The Story Behind Yuyu Toys - Education Inspired, Experts Approved Journey

My name is Solja and I am one of the founders and CEO of Yuyu Toys from Finland.

By profession, I am a teacher and a business consultant, but I am also a mother. In our home the feet of two and six years olds are running around the house, making a lot of noise. Sometimes even getting on each other’s nerves. But what is more, I am also a godmother to three gorgeous kids and an aunt to one amazing little gentleman.

Even though I live a very hectic life and pursuing my career is important to me, I feel my most responsible job is to support the healthy development of the children in my life. I feel responsible for them, and I want to be a support for their parents, my friends, too. Luckily, my friends and I are not alone.

I am very lucky to live in a country where we have one of the best public daycare systems and caring skilled teachers. Furthermore, alongside appreciating the education we have to offer for our dearest ones, I also feel strongly about what the world will look like after us. What will we leave for our kids and their kids and all generations to come. Therefore, protecting the environment, teaching about environmental responsibility, and helping my children create a relationship with nature are important to me.

So, these three things, my role as a parent, Finnish education, and environmental awareness combined inspired me to create Yuyu Toys and now I want to share it with you!

Yuyu Toys – Educational, Sustainable, and Fun Approach to Learning Through Play

Yuyu Toys is a fun 360-solution for every family. It includes a set of wooden blocks (soon also 3d-printed blocks) and pre-written activity cards. In addition, Yuyu offers a continuous supply of activities online to support play, storytelling skills, imagination, wellbeing, and development.

We’ve worked on our design and activities for a year now together with Finnish ECEC, woodworking, and 3d modeling professionals. And we are more than happy to announce that our solution will be available for pre-purchasing in May 2021!

Our business model supports circular economy. Once your children have outgrown the blocks, you can return them to us for free from wherever in the world you are, and let us find them a new home. This way we can save materials and extend the life cycle of one product to its maximum.
